The latch open heavy duty compact toggle clamp design is used to keep the clamp positively held in the open position. The handle notch is designed to accept a 3/8" diameter pin properly located at assembly to insure that the clamp will not accidentally close due to vibration or orientation. There is an equivalent latch model for most of our Heavy Duty Compact Clamps.
